Dr. Mark Hamilton is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Clinical Neurosciences, Surgery, and Paediatrics, University of Calgary.

Dr. Hamilton received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in 1979 and his medical degree from McGill University in 1983.  He then moved to Vancouver for a one-year internship at St. Paul’s Hospital, and to Calgary for his neurosurgery residency in 1991. Before coming back to Calgary to join our Faculty, Dr. Hamilton completed two fellowships – the first from the University of Calgary (Laboratory) in 1992, and the second in Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, AZ (Clinical) in 1994.

Dr. Hamilton’s research interests focus on hydrocephalus, neuroendoscopy, neuro-oncology, and venous thromboembolism.  Clinically, Dr. Hamilton specializes in paediatric neurosurgery, Neuro-oncology, hydrocephalus, neuroendoscopy, and Chiari Malformation.
