Dr. Terence Myles is a Professor Emeritus of neurosurgery in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary (U of C).

Dr. Myles obtained his medical degree at the University of Alberta in 1965. From there, he moved on to complete a rotating internship at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (also in Edmonton) from 1965 to 1966, along with two junior residencies in both paediatrics (1966-67) at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, and general surgery (1967-68) at the Montreal General Hospital. Dr. Myles then finished his Master's degree as well as his neurosurgical training (at the Montreal Neurological Institute and McGill Hospitals) in 1973, before moving to Calgary to join Drs. C. Taylor and F. LeBlanc in neurosurgical practice, based at Foothills Hospital.

Dr. Myles’ research focuses on Epilepsy surgery and medical education. Over the years, he has authored or co-authored 30 scientific papers, four book chapters, and numerous published abstracts. On two occasions he was awarded the Charles Taylor Award for Resident Teaching in the Division of Neurosurgery. He has also received Distinguished Service Awards from the Alberta Medical Association (2005), the U of C Department of Surgery (2005), and Alberta Children’s Hospital Department of Surgery (2007).
