Dr. Dan McGowan is a Clinical Associate Professor for the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary.  He is also the Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program at the Foothills Medical Centre, Alberta Health Services.

Dr. McGowan completed his BSc in Medical Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1983. From there, he moved on to finish his medical degree (1985) and CCFP (1987), also from Memorial University. Dr. McGowan completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Training at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, and has been practicing as the Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program for the past nine years.

Dr. McGowan’s clinical and research activities focus on Multiple Sclerosis - from clinical trials, to symptom and long term management.
